I could have just written you a message. But you're worth something a little more than that. So I made you a tiny corner of the internet instead.
$ ./open-my-heartMy Princess,
There are probably a thousand ways I could tell you that I love you, and somehow none of them ever feel like enough. So instead of trying to find the perfect words, I wanted to make you something you could come back to whenever you miss me.
As I write this, we've been talking for:
And somehow, in that time, you've become one of the most important people in my life.
Being far away from you isn't always easy. There are moments when I wish I could simply turn up at your door, steal a hug, and sit next to you without a screen between us. But even with all those kilometres between us, you've become such a beautiful part of my everyday life.
I love the little things. Your messages. Your jokes. The way you annoy me just because you can. The moments where we're doing absolutely nothing and somehow I still feel lucky that it's you on the other side of the phone.
And if there's one thing I want you to know, it's this: distance doesn't make me less certain about you. If anything, it makes me more certain that you're someone I want beside me when the distance is finally gone.
Until then, I'll keep choosing you — one day, one call, one stupid joke, one “goodnight” at a time.

It started with one IG DM.
"The typa girl men go to war for fr."
And somehow, that was the beginning.
At first, it was just conversation. Banter. Sarcasm. Random jokes. Two people pretending they weren't enjoying talking to each other way too much.
And then, somewhere along the way, you became someone I genuinely couldn't imagine not having in my life.
I don't think there was one exact moment where I suddenly thought, "Yep. I'm falling for her."
I just started noticing things.
I noticed that I actually listened to you. And I'm not exactly known for following instructions. I like doing my own thing.
But you could ask me to do some completely random thing, and somehow... I'd do it.
I wanted to hear what you thought. About life. About people. About your ideas. About the way you see the world.
Then there was the fact that you made me laugh.
We could be completely sarcastic with each other. Pretend we're annoyed. Roll our eyes. Act like the other person is being ridiculous.
While both of us were probably sitting there smiling at our phones.
Somewhere in all of that, the banter stopped being just banter.
You're kind. Intelligent. Loyal. You care more about people than you probably realise. And you're ridiciulously stubborn sometimes.
You also somehow manage to be both one of the sweetest people I've ever met and one of the biggest pains in my ass. But honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.
You have the kind of soul you only find once in a lifetime.
And honestly, you're everything I've ever prayed for in a life partner.
I love how much you care about people. Especially kids. The fact that you're studying to become a teacher genuinely makes sense to me because you have such a soft spot for them. Especially those little boys you always talk about.
It's the way you value consistency and honesty. The way you've been raised with such strong morals and values. The way you carry yourself.
And especially the way you respect me and my feelings.
That means more to me than you probably realise.
I think that's one of the things that makes you different. You don't just make me feel loved.
You listen to me.
You care about how I feel.
You tell me to be safe.
You ask how I slept.
And somehow, even when we're busy doing completely seperate things, you still make me feel like I'm a part of your day.
That's something I don't take for granted. You're not perfect (very, VERY close to it though). Neither am I. Thank God, because imagine how boring we'd be.
But you're my person.
And somehow, between all the "Mr", "good boy", "shush", "where you went" and "haibo", you became someone I genuinely don't want to do life without.
There is something about you that I'll always remember.
When I was struggling with sleep and bad dreams, you were the first girl who prayed with me.
You didn't try to make the fear disappear by pretending it wasn't there. You reminded me that God was still greater than whatever was troubling me.
And somehow, something that started as you helping me through a difficult night became something we still share together.
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you... Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
Jesus gives us a different kind of peace — one that doesn't depend on everything around us being perfect.
I think I'll always love that our first Bible study together wasn't something complicated.
It was simply a reminder that even when fear is real, God is still greater than it.
There is, however, one major issue we have yet to resolve.
You chose Batman.
I chose Spider-Man.
I have tried to understand your position. I have considered the evidence. I have reviewed the facts.
Unfortunately, I remain correct.
I think the hardest part isn't even the distance itself.
It's everything we haven't experienced yet.
I know how well we talk. I know how easily you make me laugh. I know what it's like when you annoy me, when you call me "Mr", when you tell me to be a "good boy", when you disappear and then come back like nothing happened.
I know how much I like talking to you.
But we still haven't experienced the most important part. Us. In the same place. No phone, no screen, no bad network. Just you and me.
I think that's what I look forward to the most.
I already know what I'm going to want to do.
Give you the biggest hug.
Give you a million kisses.
And probably refuse to let go.
I want to hold you long enough for you to know that I never wanted to let go in the first place.
I want to laugh with you, annoy you, watch you roll your pretty eyes at me, hear you call me "good boy," and finally get to experience all the little things that distance currently keeps from us.
I want the ordinary things.
Sitting next to you. Going somewhere together. Getting food. Doing absolutely nothing. Hearing your voice without a phone between us.
And more than anything, I want to be there and treat you the way you've always deserved to be treated.
There are certain songs that just become attached to people.
For us, it's Rivals — Usher.
I don't think a song can explain a relationship. But sometimes a song can capture a feeling that words don't quite know how to describe.
And whenever I hear it, a little part of me thinks of you (the same goes for amapiano tbh).
